C-WAGS TRIAL FAQ

C-WAGS can run two ways:

Single Trial: One-day event, all runs same day
League Play: Multiple trial dates in one season, accumulate passes across dates (You can enter as many classes or as few as you want)

Both count toward titles the same way! 

If you are only running in FEO runs, you do not need to register.

If you are running in qualified runs and this is your first time doing a C-WAGS event, registration for your dog is required. You can register online HERE

The Premium tells you:
 - Trial date and location
 - What levels are being offered
 - Entry deadline
 - Pricing

When filling out your entry:
 - Choose your level(s) - you can enter multiple levels!
 - Indicate Regular Entry or FEO  (scroll to "Regular Entry vs FEO" to learn more)
 - Provide your dog's registered name and number
 - Double-check all information before submitting

You can pay using:
 - PayPal (@qbits)
 - Venmo (@qbits)
 - Cash
 - Eager Dog

For now Rally will always be held on-site at QNB, unless otherwise posted.

Regular Entry ($20 per run):
 - Your dog is working toward a title
 - Passes count toward your 4 needed for title
 - Your dog qualifies for this level

FEO - For Exhibition Only ($10 per run):
 - Your dog is NOT earning a title
 - Passes don't count
 - Great for practice!

When to enter FEO:
 - You have two dogs and want to run both
 - Your dog already titled and you're practicing
 - Your dog doesn't qualify for this level yet but needs experience
 - You want trial exposure without pressure 

What it is: A Division is generally for teams that are newer to competing at that level of Rally difficulty.

Retries: You may retry 2 different exercises, one time each.

If you successfully complete the exercise on the retry, the deductions from your first attempt are removed, up to 10 points. You then receive a 3-point deduction for the retry, plus any deductions earned during the new attempt.

What it is: B Division is generally for teams with previous experience or titles at that level of Rally difficulty.

Retries: You may retry 1 exercise, one time.

The same scoring applies: a successful retry replaces up to 10 points of deductions from the original attempt with the 3-point retry deduction, plus any errors made during the retry.

What it is: The introductory C-WAGS Rally class with foundational Rally exercises and a course designed for newer teams.

Are you ready? Your dog should be comfortable working with you on leash and performing basic skills such as sits, downs, turns, and heeling.

The Details: 
• On leash
• Beginner friendly Rally exercises
• Courses use Starter level signs
• 70 points or higher to qualify
• Retries are allowed

A great place to begin your C-WAGS Rally journey!

What it is: The next step up from Starter, adding more challenging signs and asking for stronger teamwork.

Are you ready? Your dog should have solid foundational Rally skills and be ready for more challenging exercises and course combinations.

The Details: 
• Increased difficulty from Starter
• Adds Advanced level exercises
• More complex course challenges
• 70 points or higher to qualify
• Retries are allowed

You don't have to earn a Starter title before entering Advanced!

What it is: A higher difficulty Rally class designed for experienced teams ready for challenging exercises and greater precision.

Are you ready? Your dog should have strong Rally skills and be comfortable working through complex exercises and longer sequences.

The Details:
• Advanced Rally skills
• More difficult signs and combinations
• Greater teamwork and precision
• 70 points or higher to qualify
• Retries are allowed

Ready for a bigger challenge? Pro lets experienced teams put their Rally skills to the test!

What it is: A faster-moving Rally class emphasizing movement, flow, and teamwork.

Are you ready? Your dog should enjoy moving with you and be comfortable performing Rally skills while maintaining momentum through the course.

The Details: 
• Designed for more continuous movement
• Emphasizes flow through the course
• Uses Zoom-specific exercises
• 70 points or higher to qualify
• A fun alternative to traditional Rally courses

If your dog loves to MOVE, Zoom might be your class!

You have to decide to retry before beginning the next exercise. You re-approach the sign and perform that exercise again from the beginning. A 10-point error can be retried, but an error specifically designated as an NQ cannot be fixed with a retry.

C-WAGS Games is a fun twist on traditional Rally Obedience! Instead of following a standard Rally course, teams complete different challenges that test their teamwork, communication, and obedience skills. Each game has its own rules and objectives, offering a fun way to build confidence and try something new with your dog. Games is a great opportunity for handlers and dogs to have fun together while continuing to develop their skills!

What it is: A strategy-based Rally game where you choose exercises to create three hands of 21 points each.

Are you ready? Your dog should be comfortable performing Rally exercises while you plan your own route through the course.

The Details: 
• Exercises are worth 2, 3, or 5 points
• Choose exercises totaling 10 points, then complete the 11-point Black Jack exercise
• Complete three hands of 21 points • Minimum of 45 points to qualify
• Level 1 may be on or off leash; higher levels are off leash
• Time limit of 2 minutes before deductions begin

It's all about strategy! Choose your exercises wisely to reach 21 three times!

What it is: A Rally game featuring two different colored courses in the same ring. You choose which course to complete!

Are you ready? Your dog should be comfortable with Rally exercises, and you should be ready to choose the course that best suits your team's strengths.

The Details: 
• Two color-coded courses of 9–12 exercises each
• Choose your color before starting
• Complete only your chosen course
• 90 points or higher to qualify
• Level 1 may be on or off leash; higher levels are off leash
• Time limit of 2 minutes before deductions begin

Choose the path that works best for you and your dog!

What it is: A Rally game where one handler completes a course with two dogs working side by side!

Are you ready? Both dogs should be comfortable working together, following cues, and performing Rally exercises at the same time.  

The Details: 
• One handler works with two dogs
• Both dogs perform exercises together
• Courses contain 9–12 exercises • 85 points or higher to qualify
• Level 1 may be on or off leash; higher levels are off leash
• No jumps are included
• Both dogs receive the same qualifying result  

Twice the dogs, twice the teamwork!

What it is: Two dog-and-handler teams work together to complete one Rally course! While one team works, the other dog holds an Honor position.

Are you ready? Your dog should be comfortable performing Rally exercises and maintaining a sit or down stay while another dog works nearby.

 The Details: 
• Two handlers and two dogs participate
• Each team completes approximately half the course
• The waiting dog performs an on-leash Honor exercise
• 80 points or higher to qualify
• Both dogs receive the same qualifying result
• Partners do not have to remain the same for future qualifying runs
• Standard Team courses have a 3-minute time limit before deductions begin

What it is: A collection of different games that offer unique challenges beyond traditional Rally courses!

Are you ready? Be ready to try something different with your dog! The skills needed depend on the specific Grab Bag game being offered.
The Details:
• Includes a variety of games with different objectives
• Each game has its own rules and qualifying requirements
• Challenges vary depending on the game offered
 • Check the trial premium to see which Grab Bag games are available

Every Grab Bag game brings a different challenge and a new opportunity to have fun with your dog!

No! You don't need previous Rally competition experience to participate in C-WAGS Games. However, having a basic understanding of Rally signs and obedience exercises is helpful, as Games builds on many of the same skills. Games offers a fun opportunity to challenge yourself and your dog while continuing to develop your teamwork!

To earn a C-WAGS Games title, you need 4 qualifying scores (Qs) at the same level, under at least 2 different judges, and in at least 2 different games. You can mix and match games as you work toward your title! Games offers four levels, and you can begin competing at any level. Once you've earned a title, you can continue competing toward an ACE title by earning 10 additional Qs at that level in at least 2 different games.

 - Your dog (on leash!)
 - Water bowl
 - Crating supplies for your vehicle
 - Positive attitude and good sportsmanship 

Arrive at least 15 minutes early to:
 - Check in
 - Get your dog settled
 - Review the run order
 - Ask any last-minute questions 

Yes, you can watch other dogs before and after you run.

All crating in vehicles. Dogs only out for:
 - Pottying
 - When called for their run

Do not stand in front of building doors. 

Competitors may discuss their Rally runs with other competitors at any time. Please wait until the class has concluded before discussing questions about your score with the judge.

 - Dogs on leash at all times except in search area
 - Maintain 6-foot spacing between teams
 - Clean up after your dog
 - Be responsible for your dog's safety and behavior 

Each Rally run starts with 100 points. Points are deducted for errors made during the course, with deductions made in whole-point increments. The minimum deduction is 1 point, and generally no more than 10 points can be deducted for an individual exercise. Some errors can result in an automatic non-qualifying score (NQ).

A qualifying score in C-WAGS Rally is 70 points or higher out of 100.

Pass/Fail System:
 - Each run either passes or fails
 - 4 passes = Title (must be under 2 different judges)

What About ACE Titles? After you earn your title (4 passes), keep going!
 - 10 more passes = ACE (Advanced Championship Excellence)
 - Keep earning: ACE X2, ACE X3, ACE X4... infinitely!

Example:
 - 4 passes = Level 1 title ✓
 - 10 more passes (14 total) = Level 1 ACE ✓
 - 10 more passes (24 total) = Level 1 ACE X2 ✓ 

Scores will be posted on-site after each class completes. However, the official results do not get sent to C-WAGS until after the league ends so they will not be immediately posted to your dogs profile.

Our trial secretary submits to C-WAGS within 14 days. You'll get confirmation from C-WAGS directly.

League scores are NOT submitted until after the league is finished, Our trial secretary submits them within 14 days of the last day of the league.
